Let’s Teach for Mastery – Not Test Scores

Sal Khan, the founder of Khan Academy, describes the critical nature of Mastery Learning as espoused by Khan Academy, and coincidentally Webster’s Academy. The idea that a student should “master” the concepts of early levels of learning, to they can assimilate the concepts of higher levels of learning. This concept can be applied to the learning of Writing Skills, as well as Math, Science and other related skills. Just passing a test, even at 75% simply means that the student does not understand 25% of what they need to know to move ahead. Please take ten minutes to watch this video to see you this can apply to your school or home school students.
